MEMBERS' SALES AND WANTS

This page is for members to place advertisements for their sales and wants. Items for sale or wanted must be relevant to the interests of the Society, i.e. vintage military or amateur radio equipment, parts or accessories. Advertisements appear on this page a few days after inclusion in the society newsletter and may be emailed to editor[at]vmarsmanuals.co.uk   It would be appreciated if you could let us know when items are sold so they can be removed from the page, to save unnecessary calls. Ads from non-members may be accepted at the discretion of the Society.

IMPORTANT NEW EMAIL POLICY - PLEASE READ!
In order to protect members from the ever increasing spam problems, email addresses
are not be directly included in advertisements - you will have to copy
and paste the address given into your mail client, then change [at] for the correct symbol.
You can read full details here
For similar reasons telephone numbers are not given in adverts unless specifically requested by the advertiser.

Advertisers please note: Some members have received emails offering to buy items in exchange for cheques for large sums, the balance of which has to be repaid, or similar.  These are obviously scams and should never be responded to!

**Please note that due to continued "spam and scam" problems with this facility, adverts submitted to the VMARS News Sheet will not be placed on the web unless this is specifically requested at the time of placing the ad.***

FOR SALE: Bids are invited for a very rare WS68P transmitter and receiver, the manpack radio famously used at Arnhem, which is an offshoot of the WS18 covering the much lower frequency range of 1.75 to 2.9MHz. Only the two chassis are available as per the photos - no case or accessories. Both need thorough restoration to return to working order, and a number of small parts are missing as follows:
Receiver:
dial lock; phone jacks; detector/AF amplifier valve; BFO assembly (it fits on top of the AF output transformer).
Transmitter:
battery plug.

I am keen to see these radios go to someone who will restore them to good working order for posterity, thus I invite written bids to be sent to me by Tuesday 16th October. Please tell me how you intend to restore and use them. If you have examples of other radios you have successfully restored please provide details. The winner will not necessarily be the highest bidder, as I will be taking into account the viability of your restoration plans as well. You should note that a reserve price has been set. Feel free to ask questions if anything is unclear.
Buyer to collect in person or to pay for delivery by courier.

FOR SALE: Bob Warner has very kindly donated some items to VMARS to be sold for society funds.
(1) A two-way high voltage plug, (used I believe on T1509). The two insulating shrouds are different diameters, so the plug is polarised.  £2.50
(2) Two four-way jack plugs, as used on certain RAF headsets.    £2 each
(3) A NOS front panel for the C11 transmitter – this is a completely blank panel, but has been painted, and is ready to install. £15
(4) A NOS front panel for the ATU No.7 (which is used with the C11 transmitter). Again ready to install.  £10.
(5) A GN-58AF hand generator, as used with the GRC-9 transceiver. This one was made for the French Army, and the generator itself is in fine cosmetic condition, and looks as though it has never been used. It comes with the seat leg and two other legs – but is missing its two handles and its connecting cable.   £25
All items are shipping extra if you need it. Note the front panels are made of alloy and are thus fairly light, and easily shippable. Connectors similar, but the generator is a heavy lump and better handed over in person, if possible.
